At Least 25 Shot in Chicago Over the Weekend

    News reports that more than 15 people were shot, three fatally wounded, from Friday to Saturday in Lightfoot's city of Chicago.

    The first of those three fatal shootings was a baby girl who was fatally wounded in the head while in a car around 6:45 p.m.

    Two shooting deaths occurred Friday night, one around 11:00 p.m. and the other just after at 11:30 p.m.

    ABC 7 Chicago Sun-Times notes there were two more fatal shootings that occurred as the weekend progressed which brought the total number of fatal shootings to five.

    Another shooting fatality over the course of the weekend happened at the time of 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, after a man was fatally shot as he exited his vehicle “in the 1300-block of West Roosevelt Road.”

    The fifth fatal shooting of the weekend occurred “in the 300-block of South Pulaski Road” Sunday around at 1:30 p.m. Two gunmen shot at an CTA bus. One man was wounded in the head and later died.

    The Sun-Times mentions that there have been 301 deaths by shootings in Chicago since the first day of January, 2022 through June 26th, 2022.
