Police discovered the victim in her lobby on Friday night, while Tammel Esco (a suspect according to officials) waited outside. NBC New York reported Monday.
The Yonkers Police Department posted a social media message saying that the victim sustained severe facial injuries. He was then taken to a trauma center and the suspect was taken into custody.

The victim, a 67 year-old Yonkers resident, saw the suspect in front of her building as she returned home. He called her “Asian bitch” as she walked past him; the victim is of Asian descent. The victim, who was trying to get into the lobby from the vestibule, ignored his comments. He then approached her from behind, punching her head more than 125 times, before standing over her, and using alternating fist strikes, he kicked her seven times before spitting on her.
According to police, the woman sustained contusions, lacerations and bone fractures as well as bleeding on her brain.
A majority of Americans believe that crime is worsening in America, with 83 percent believing it will be a major issue during the midterm elections. This was according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.
Breitbart News reports that “broken down by their political affiliation, 79 percent of Republicans, almost half of Democrats (48%) and 70% of unaffiliated voter think violent crime has on the rise,”
Esco was charged with one count each of attempted murder and assault as hate crimes.
Police said that ESCO was taken into custody by Westchester County Jail after being arraigned at Yonkers Criminal Court on February 12th. His next court date is set for March 25th.
