Democratic strategist Donna Brazile said Sunday on ABC's “This Week” that Republicans targeted law enforcement officers because they were protesting the FBI raid that targeted the estate of former President Donald Trump's Florida estate.
Anchor Jon Karl asked, “I am saying, clearly this defunding the FBI is a bit over the top. Are you unhappy with the way the nation is split on something similar to this? Are you among the passionate Trump supporters making these accusations about the law enforcement agencies of our country?”
Brazile stated “What is bothering me, and you know, are the threats to law enforcement. The police were defunded and now you're defunding the FBI. Who's condemning this? If a tiny minority of Democratic lawmakers and activists announced that they would defund the government, everyone would be outraged. What a travesty. How dare you to threaten the top order of our nation and the FBI. The Republicans are mostly quiet.”
She added, “It is time to take a step back. It's time to adhere to the law.”
Brazile said, “It is just outrageous to see Republican lawmakers, the leaders of their own party targeted law enforcement agencies in the course of their work. Former president: we should stop making him sound like the ex-president. We should stop calling him the president. The former president is acting like a child.”
