Hunter Biden has asked an Arkansas court to disallow his daughter, who is four years old and born out of wedlock to ex-stripper Lunden Roberts, from taking the Biden name, the New York Post reported.
The request comes just two weeks after Roberts asked Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer to change her daughter's name to Biden as she believes she will “benefit from carrying the Biden family name” and that the “Biden name is now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute, and politically powerful.”
Robert's complaint also stated that the child was “estranged” from the Biden family, to the point of “misconduct or neglect.”
“[I]t can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family,” the document stated.
But, one week after Robert's request was made, Hunter Biden's lawyers pleaded with the judge to stop the changes in the belief that it would not allow his child Navy Joan the right to a “peaceful existence,” the Post said.
The lawyers also suggested that the daughter has to decide whether she would like to adopt the Biden name when “the disparagement of the Biden name is not at its height.”
The president's son initially denied that he was the father of the child, however the results of a DNA test in 2019 proved he was the father. An Arkansas judge decided in January of 2020 that Hunter Biden was the “biological and legal” father of the child.
A few weeks after the decision, Hunter Biden agreed to pay child support to Roberts; however, he requested in September 2022 that the amount be reduced and argued it was because his “financial circumstances” had made him ineligible to pay the original agreement.
The president is not believed to have given security for Navy Joan, Breitbart News published in June. Roberts began raising alarms following threats from her former fiance, cage fighter Princeton Foster.
There is no evidence that Hunter Biden nor Joe Biden has been reported to have met with the daughter.
