The Bidens were guests at the Los Angeles fundraiser thrown by Democratic mega-donor, Haim Saban, and his wife, Cheryl. The purpose was to raise money for the Democratic National Committee's Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund with ticket prices starting at $1,000 per person and rising to a staggering $36,500.
In her address to supporters who gathered on Friday night, Jill Biden brought up the riot of January 6 at the Capitol to criticize Trump.
“If you think of what went on January 6, and if we were living with that kind of president today — it's like you can't even let your head go there,” she stated. “And then once we were elected, people came up to me all the time, everywhere I went, and said, ‘Jill, I feel like I can breathe.'”
The next day, the Bidens were at a charity event held in Brentwood, hosted by Andrew Hauptman and Ellen Bronfman Hauptman, and co-hosted by the former Disney and Dreamworks director, Jeffrey Katzenberg.
Biden's hobnobbing with the Hollywood elites coincides with the fact that inflation hit the highest level in May, with prices climbing by a staggering 8.6 percent and defying the media story that inflation had eased a bit.
In a letter to Deadline, Katzenberg said: “The money that was raised today will assist in getting voters to the polls on November 6th, the day of elections. Just the thought that there are Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell being in charge ought to suffice to bring voters to cast their ballots.”
