The XFL Spring Football League, a spring football league that is owned by Johnson, announced the league's “together” campaign, and revealed its mission statement earlier this week. But, Rapinoe noted that the logo of the league had an eerie resemblance to her brand TogethXR which was founded by her and her partner, WNBA star Sue Bird.
“Welp. This is awkward,” Rapinoe posted on Twitter. “Only thing The Rock and XFL are gonna be cookin up is a response to the Cease and Desist and an ENTIRE new brand ID. TogethXR got this on [lock] boys.”
Bird also posted a tweet about its logo.
Tweets do not function as a legal record, and if she plans to pursue legal action to sue “The Rock,” she will need to submit a legal form. However, it is possible that the case could have progressed differently if Rapinoe had privately spoken to Johnson regarding her concerns; then, the issue might have been settled before having to make it public.
However, discretion and shows of respect aren't the main strengths of Rapinoe.
