The TikTok account of the newly appointed executive director of President Joe Biden's Disinformation Governance Board (Department of Homeland Security) has been turned private. Some on the social-media platform questioned the move by Nina Jankowicz, who has also been criticized after a TikTok video of her singing a revised version of Mary Poppins' “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” tailored around “information laundering” was unearthed.
Although she is regarded as an expert on the subject by Biden Administration officials, Republicans have been critical of the disinformation board, claiming that it threatens free speech.
Alejandro Mayorkas, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary, made headlines when he announced that the DHS had created its Disinformation Governance Board to fight misinformation before the 2022 midterm elections.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) introduced legislation on Tuesday to stop the board. She stated that Biden's illegal and dystopian “Department of Propaganda” is following the same Maoist path as Stalin’s.
In a press release, Jankowicz was referred to as a Russia hoax-eating radical. (Jankowicz didn’t need to be sexually active to become famous and influential.) Based on her history on social media, she is well known for her positive stance on Democrats. She went so far as to declare that reports concerning Hunter Biden's laptop were false.
