Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) said Monday on “CBS Evening News” that Fox News host Jesse Watters has been “mocking” Paul Pelosi, the spouse of the Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), for months, which has aided and encouraged the home invasion hammer attack against the speaker's husband.
In an FBI statement, the suspect, 42 year-old David DePape, confessed to entering the Pelosis' San Francisco home with the intention of breaking the Speaker's kneecaps in order to “show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions.”
Newsom declared, “I have seen the dehumanization of Nancy Pelosi. I don't think anyone's ever been repeatedly dehumanized as she has been.”
He went on to say, “I mean, I was watching this one person that appeared to be Jesse Watters or something on Fox News, what he's been declaring on Paul Pelosi the last six months, slamming him repeatedly. It is, of course causing things like this to occur. It's planting the seeds that will create an environment and culture similar to this.”
Newsom said, “They're sowing the seeds. They're creating a climate and culture similar to this. Look at the internet. Take a look at the sewage on the internet that is amplified through these networks and social media to dehumanize individuals such as Nancy Pelosi and other political leaders.”
