Initial news reports indicated that Tuesday's subway attack took place just prior to 8:15 A.M. with five people killed and several others wounded. However, CNN later reported New York City Fire Department (FDNY) spokesperson Amanda Farinacci as stating, “Eight people were shot, and eight others were injured following a shooting at a Brooklyn subway.”

A manhunt is underway for the suspect in the shooting. New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell described the suspect in Tuesday's New York City subway attack as a black man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall “with a heavy build” and sporting a green “construction-type vest with a hooded sweatshirt.”

BronxNews12 pinpointed “Frank James as a person of interest in the shooting.”
