Hollywood stars are falling over themselves to elevate outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to the status of a saint after she announced that she was taking a break in her role as Democrat House leader after the Republicans gained control of the House during the midterm elections.

At the forefront of the quasi-religious swell of fervor were a few of the most prominent leftists in Hollywood, such as Barbra Streisand, Rob Reiner, George Takei, Alyssa Milano, and Mia Farrow.

A clearly dejected Barbra Streisand tweeted: “You are the best speaker there ever was! We will all miss you. Actually, the world will miss you! My love and best wishes to you and Paul. Love, Barbra.”

Rob Reiner called her “the most effective, accomplished, and consequential Speaker in our lifetime.”

Alyssa Milano went full feminist: “Nancy Pelosi has inspired a generation of young girls to know that they can stand up to the patriarchy and speak truth to power.”

Nancy Pelosi, 82, announced on Thursday that she won't run for reelection as the House Democrats’ leader, even though she stated that she will remain in Congress, representing the California district she has served since 1987. Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is the top GOP candidate to succeed Pelosi in the role of House Speaker.

Hollywood actors expressed their appreciation and undying devotion to Pelosi in a flurry of praiseworthy social media messages.

The media did not mention Pelosi's stock-trading practices, which have greatly increased the wealth of her family during her tenure as Speaker. They also did not mention her involvement in the impeachment proceedings of former President Donald Trump or the Russia collusion hoax that has blighted the nation for many years.

    To recap:

Barbra Streisand claimed she was “the best speaker there ever was!”

Rob Reiner called her the “most effective, accomplished, and consequential Speaker in our lifetime.”

Alyssa Milano said Pelosi has inspired females to “stand up to the patriarchy.”

    Others joined in:

Comedian Sandra Bernhard tweeted that Pelosi sacrificed her security “to ensure our democracy survived.”

Netflix's The Watcher star Mia Farrow described her as a “powerhouse, a fearless, master tactician.”

Netflix's Grace and Frankie star Ethan Embry called Pelosi's legacy “historic.”

Other Hollywood celebrities also expressed their gratitude and appreciation.
