Tony Dungy Calls Warnock a Fraud over Tweets

Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock has an advantage over his opponent in the race to win the Senate seat. A majority of studies, such as one conducted by an Democratic polling company, point to Herschel Walker as a possible GOP opponent.

The most significant issue for Warnock is his ties to President Biden. Low approval scores at both the national and state levels are hurting him. It's gotten to the point that Warnock even tries to play everyone for a fool, trying to present himself as a moderate Democrat and to the right on issues like border security and taxes.

Warnock has acknowledged that he's aware the situation is not good; he's running ads that acknowledge he didn't do much to be proud of during the 15 months he served as a senator. If you have not seen it, here's the message of the ad:

“Raphael Warnock is my name. It is my name as a father and senator, pastor and magician, but I'm certainly not an artist. In the first year in the Senate did I believe I could solve Washington? No. Every single day I thought about the things I was able to do in order to assist our state. I helped create jobs, fix infrastructure, and increased health care. The message was accepted because it's not magical. That's Georgia's job.”

It's the issue with abortion that is just one aspect where Warnock isn't showing moderation. We have reported that following Monday's Supreme Court leak revealing the draft majority opinion of Justice Samuel Alito, Warnock was among the Democrats who took to Twitter to express support for “a woman's choice”.

“As a pastor who is pro-choice I've always believed the patient's room is too small for women, their doctor, and even the United States government.”

“I will always fight for the right of women to make their own choices. That won't change.”

In reply to the tweet, I wrote that he could not have given Herschel Walker a better present in light of the fact that Georgia isn't a blue-state. It's a purple/reddish state that has numerous middle-grounders who might be on opposite sides on the hot issues. He didn't adopt a position regarding abortion rights that was thought to be “middle ground”. This is the kind of position that Democrats from battleground states seek to portray as moderate (as Warnock does). Walker is likely to exploit this position in the coming months by stating clearly that Warnock will support abortions on demand at any stage of pregnancy.

Though Warnock has faced criticism from fellow members of the clergy over his stance on abortion, which is inconsistent with Biblical teachings, perhaps no criticism was more cutting and to the point than the one he received this week from former NFL coach-turned-commentator Tony Dungy, who proudly wears his Christian faith on his sleeve when speaking publicly about the moral issues our country faces.

Here's what Dungy wrote to Warnock after his pro-abortion speech; the most important thing is the last line.

“It all boils down to what you think about the life-form growing within the mother. Are they living or not? If it's simply growing tissue, then it's a good idea to consider whether your ‘choice’ makes sense. If it's a living thing, it's clearly not appropriate to decide to stop it. What do you believe your Bible says about it? Psalm 139:16

This is Psalm 139:16 for those who aren't aware:

“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Dungy faced off against Warnock through Twitter back in the month of December 2020 in the course of his campaign to defeat Senator Kelly Loeffler (R). Dungy had also argued with Warnock about his Christian convictions on Twitter after finding out that Warnock declared himself to be an pro-choice minister.

“Rev. Warnock might become a priest. My question is “Is he a Christian?” In other words, does he adhere to the principles of Jesus and do you believe that Jesus' Bible is the only Word of God?”

Maybe Warnock might finally be able to answer this question once he stops sticking his feet inside his mouth. Keep an eye on him.
