Trump began his weekend Save America rally by praising the Supreme Court for its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.
In the meantime this series, we've got significant announcements. Don't we? We have some very important news. Perhaps the most important coming from the United States Supreme Court. Yesterday, the Court delivered a win for the Constitution as well as a victory for the rule of law and, most importantly, it was a victory for human life. This can be the result of the prayers and hopes of billions. They've been praying for decades and years. They've been praying, and today the prayers are answered.
“To all the generation of Americans involved in the pro-life movement, and many constitutional conservatives, your endless dedication, sacrifice, and loyalty has finally been recognized in full. We are very happy,” Trump said.
Trump stated this Supreme Court decision possible by his pledge during his campaign to select pro-life justices who will uphold the Constitution's original intent.
In 2016, as the presidential candidate, do you remember? We were better than the first time around, but we shouldn't say that. Much better than this time around. We did much better in 2020. I said I would nominate justices and judges who would defend the original intent of the Constitution and who would truthfully and consistently interpret the law as it was written. We were able to get nearly 300 federal judges and three outstanding Supreme Court justices confirmed to be exactly this.
Trump expressed his gratitude to the Court for having that it had the “courage” to overturn Roe V. Wade and bring the abortion rights issue back to the state legislatures.
“And thanks to the courage found within the United States Supreme Court, this long divisive issue will be decided by the states and by the American people,” Trump stated. “That's what it should have been years ago, many, and it's how it is today. Therefore, congrats.”
The Mendon, Illinois crowd chanted “Thank you”, following his remarks about the Supreme Court's ruling overturning Roe.
“We believe that every precious child born and unborn is the sacred gift from God,” Trump said.
