Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Officer John R. Modlin tweeted images of an armed human smuggler who was arrested with the help of agents from the Ajo Station Agent. Agents retrieved firearms out of the car.
Ajo Station agents stopped the red vehicle on SR-85 this week. After an immigration check, the agent identified the driver as a U.S. citizen, as well as the family members with a child of two years as foreign nationals who are illegally in the U.S.
The officers detained the driver, who is a U.S. citizen, and took the gun.
Additionally, in Tucson, Douglas Station Border Patrol agents stopped a blue car for an immigration screening on SR-80. Chief Modlin as well as U.S. Border Patrol Deputy Chief Matthew Hudak stopped by and watched the Border Patrol agents while they found two Guatemalan migrants confined inside the trunk during the heat of summer.
Wilcox Station agents responded to the call of Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers on SR-90. They conducted an interview with immigration officials and discovered 4 Mexican migrants being transported.
Police have arrested two U.S. citizens in connection to the smuggling case. During the search inside the car, a handgun was discovered in the center console.
