Seven of the victims died from their wounds.
News reported that 17 people were shot, with four of them fatally, on Friday through Sunday morning.
ABC 7 Chicago Sun-Times reported three more shooting deaths, one of which took place on Saturday at 11:15 p.m. at which time an unidentified man aged 29 was shot dead “in the 6600-block of South Evans Avenue” after a disagreement.
A few minutes later, the police were called to shootings “in the Old Town neighborhood's 1300-block of North Hudson Avenue,” in which they discovered the 31-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital in which he later died.
At 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning, a 22-year-old victim was shot numerous times “in the 6000-block of South Racine Avenue.” He was transported to the hospital, which was where he died.
The Sun-Times reported 457 deaths in Chicago from January 1, 2022 until September 4, 2022.
